Soldattorpet is an oasis in the forests of Småland, with a café and accomodation in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. In our fully licensed barn we have space for 49 guests to partake in various activities. We also sell locally products, both from our property and the surrounding area. Welcome!
Our property, Piggaboda Djurgården, is located in the middle of the Småland countryside between Alvesta and Ljungby. The property dates from the 18th century. The property is run by Monica Hammarstrand and Göran Granemark, who have lived here since 2016. There are bees, hens and sheep on the property. Here you can experience beautiful and relaxing nature. You can even combine good food or fika with a forest walk or why not a bike ride. Or why not just sit down and enjoy the quiet, the beautiful nature and the sea view.
Local and sustainable production is important for us. All the electricity used on the property comes from our own solar panels. There is the option to charge electrical cars at our charging station.
The renovation of Soldattorpet has been carried out with great care for sustainability. We have tried to preserve as much of the original house as possible, with adpatations to a modern standard where needed. All the furnishings and furniture are second hand. We have used wood fiber for insulation to make the house breathe. The paints used are made from linseed oil, the ceilings and the painted walls are painted with our home-made egg oil tempera.
